DAY 1 VANCOUVER
Arrive in Vancouver for an overnight stay. You are free to
explore this scenic city on your own.
DAY 2 VANCOUVER TO KAMLOOPS
"A-a-a-all aboa-a-ard." At Vancouver's Pacific Central
Station, board the Rocky Mountaineer. Pass through the fertile
fields of the Fraser River Valley and view the towering peaks
of the Coast Mountains before entering the Fraser Canyon.
See the thundering waters of Hells Gate and follow the Thompson
River to historic Kamloops, gateway to the interior of British
Columbia. Overnight in comfortable accommodation in Kamloops.
Breakfast and lunch on board.
DAY 3 KAMLOOPS TO BANFF
As you leave Kamloops you will journey through the vast ranchlands
along the South Thompson River to Shuswap Lake. Pass Craigellachie,
where the "Last Spike" of the Canadin Pacific Railway
was driven, and enter Rogers Pass, with its tunnels, snowsheds
and glistening glaciers. The Kicking Horse River leads you
to Kicking Horse Pass, the Spiral Tunnels and over the Continental
Divide to Banff National Park. End your rail journey in Banff,
or continue on to the "Stampede City" of Calgary.
Breakfast and lunch onboard.
Hors d'oeuvres are served en route to Calgary.
DAY 4 LAKE LOUISE TO BANFF
An afternoon motorcoach tour takes you into Yoho National
Park, where you will see such wonders as Emerald Lake, the
Spiral Tunnels and a natural rock bridge. At the end of the
tour you will be transferred to Banff. Overnight in Banff.
DAY 5 BANFF TO CALGARY
Enjoy a morning tour of the Banff townsite before transferring
to Calgary. Among the points of interest are visits to the
Banff Gondola, Bow Falls, the Cave and Basin Centre and the
Hoodoos. Overnight in Calgary.
DAY 6 CALGARY
Your Canadian Rockies Highlights tour ends with check-out
from your hotel. |
